1. Maureen A. Odenwald (The founder's Godmother):
Born in Brooklyn NY, raised in the Catskill Mountains. A two time cancer survivor, single mother of two adopted daughters from Democratic Republic of Congo. First traveled to Africa for the love of animals. Later met Rosamond Halsey Carr and began recruiting sponsors for the children of the Imbabazi Orphanage. Noel was the first child to receive sponsorship from me. He quickly became my son. He has filled me with pride as he continues in the footsteps of Rosamond Halsey Carr helping the children of Rwanda to have better lives. I currently live in Arizona with my daughters and many animals and hope to continue travel to Rwanda as long as life allows me.

The Home for Hope Foundation is the creation of true testament of the Founder’s passion to give back to Maureen A. Odenwald and Rosamond Halsey Carr (The founder of the Imbabazi Orphanage) where i have lived 12 years and building hope to the hopeless children.
Our vision
See our children blossom into adults who can pass on the life skills live healthy, happy lives and give back to the community.

2. Our Education Program and updates of the 2023/2024 Academic year
|
|
Currently, we have a total of 47 children in our education program, with 20 in secondary school and 27 in primary school.
*Girls in secondary school: 9
*Boys in secondary school: 11
*Girls in primary school: 10
*Boys in primary school: 17
|
|
For secondary school students, there is a significant need for various school supplies as well as contribution fees (school fees), which are higher compared to those of primary schools. On average, one child requires between 200 Euros (Dollars) to 350 Euros (Dollars) per term.
|
|
For primary school students, the estimated cost for school supplies and education contribution is approximately 100 Euros (Dollars).
|
|
3. Food & Nutrition Program.
|
|
To provide proper nutrition, we are proud to serve the children nourishing porridge. This nourishing meal ensures they start their day with the energy and nutrients needed for optimal growth and development.
The flour used in the porridge is made of Sorghum, Soya, and Maize, known as SOSOMA.
So far, we are incredibly grateful for the funding received from the Protestant Church in the Netherlands (PKN) at Harkstede and from the family and friends of Oscar & Marleen. All the donations made for Oscar's 60th Birthday have been contributed to the Home for Hope Foundation and are being utilized for the project aimed at providing porridge to the children.

B. Agriculture
Yesterday 16th October was the #WorldFoodDay, Here is our voice:

Let's unite to say, " Had enough of child hunger & malnutrition" Join hands with the Home for Hope foundation to make a difference, build a brighter and more nourished future for all.
This is one of the Method we are using:
Grouping Women and renting larger plots of land, encouraging collaborative efforts. We provide fertilizers/manures and high-quality seeds, and they finally share the harvest.
